Summer Moon Summer Moon was originally written around 1989 and was an idea I had for a composition assignment at Grant McEwan College. It was later remixed and expanded upon!! I was influenced at the time by Andy Summers (guitarist for the police), and his release “The Golden Wire”. I was joined by friend Darwin Trekofski on soprano sax. The use of the word summer is also a tribute to Andy Summers whilst fitting the songs theme as well; one of those hot summer nights when the full moon is glowing in the evening sky casting its light upon the forest. The crickets, the howl of a wolf and the majestic owl remind us of the beauty and fragile state of the natural world!! |
